I. Introduction: Thru the Looking Glass
Today we’re going to talk about something very horrible: abortion. The title of my sermon is: “The Abortion Holocaust.” And, you know, I’ve had many people object to me calling it a holocaust, but it is one. And I’m going to show you that it’s not only a holocaust, but the worst holocaust in history, by far.

Now following the biblical example of discretion, I won’t be describing anything that’s inappropriate for children to hear.

II. Be Fruitful, and Multiply, and Replenish the Earth
A. Be Fruitful, and Multiply, and Replenish the Earth
Turn to Genesis 1:28. God gave this command to Adam and Eve, and, by implication, God gave this command to all of humanity. Genesis 1:28: “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it …”

And you can tell that this command wasn’t given just to Adam and Eve, but to all of humanity, because the command is to “replenish” the earth. God said, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth …” That replenish part means to continually refill, or replenish, the earth with people. God wouldn’t have said to replenish the earth if he was just talking to Adam and Eve, because the earth had never filled, with people, before that, it had never been plenished before, so how could Adam and Eve replenish it? And so the word “replenish,” in the command, shows that the command is to all of humanity. The command was not just to Adam and Eve, but to the future generations that would come from Adam and Eve; each generation has the responsibility to marry, and to have children, and to replenish, or refill the earth with children.

And this command has never been rescinded, in fact, it was reiterated after the Flood, and so you and I are still under this command; it is our responsibility to marry, to have children, and to replenish the earth.

And you can see that the command to have children is still in effect when you read 1 Timothy, chapter 2, for instance; or 1 Timothy chapter 5, or Titus, chapter 2, because in those chapters it says that women are to marry and bear children. And so the command to be fruitful and multiply is still in effect.

B. Disobeying the Command
1. In Biblical Times: Tower of Babel
And if humanity would just obey this command, there wouldn’t be an abortion holocaust. The heart of the issue with abortion is the disobeying, whether willful or ignorant, of God’s command to be fruitful and multiply and to replenish the earth with people.

But it’s part of our fallen nature to try and disobey God. Turn to Genesis 11:4. The whole Tower of Babel incident is based on humanity’s attempt to disobey God’s command to fill the earth with people. Genesis 11:4, “And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.” Did you catch that? They said, “… lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth”; but that’s what God told them, told us, to do: he told us to replenish the earth with people. And so, at the Tower of Babel, they were consciously trying not to do what God told them to do.

And so, back then at least, God forced humanity to obey him, and to fill the earth with people; Genesis 11:8 and 9 read: “So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.”

And so the whole reason mankind has different languages is because, back in the day, we tried to disobey the command to fill the earth with people.

2. Today: Myth of Overpopulation
And, the thing is, mankind hasn’t really changed; we still have a sinful nature, and we’re still looking for excuses to disobey God’s commands. And one of the excuses we use today, to disobey God and to not have children, is the myth of overpopulation.

Public schools, and the media, and politicians will all tell you that the world is overpopulated, and that we shouldn’t have too many children, because we’re running out of space and resources. But that’s not the truth; overpopulation is a myth, it’s a lie. The myth of overpopulation is a satanic attempt to get us to, once again, disobey God’s command to replenish the earth with people.

If you do the math, it’s not difficult to refute the myth of overpopulation. The truth is that the entire world’s population could live inside the state of Texas. Now Texas would have to have the same population density as Manhattan, in order for everyone to fit there. So, yeah, it’d be crowded, and, no, God doesn’t want us to do that; he doesn’t want us to all gather into one place again. But the point I’m making is that, if the entire world’s population could live inside the state of Texas, then there’s plenty of room on earth for everyone! Overpopulation is a myth.

There’s actually enough land mass, on earth, for every person to have 5 acres each. Or one acre each of arable land, land that you can grow crops on. But it only takes 20% of an acre to grow enough food to sustain one person. So there’s plenty of space, on earth, to grow food for everyone, and for everyone to live comfortably, and then some.

The cause of hunger, in the world, is not overpopulation. The cause of hunger is greed: it’s the hoarding of the world’s wealth that causes hunger. And it’s warfare, especially economic warfare, that’s the cause of hunger. In short, the real cause of hunger and starvation, in the world, is mankind’s sinfulness.

And so reducing the world’s population will not solve the world’s hunger issues. Because, no matter how many people live on the planet, there will still be greed, and there will still be warfare. So, no matter how many people live on the planet, there will still be hunger. We won’t solve the world’s hunger issues by killing people off, or by otherwise reducing the population. We won’t solve the world’s hunger issues until Jesus returns and reigns on the earth, justly.

2. Disobeying Because of Selfishness
Another reason mankind disobeys God’s command to be fruitful and multiply is selfishness. And you can see selfishness being the issue back at the Tower of Babel too. If you look again at Genesis 11:4, it reads: “And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.” You see? they said, “and let us make us a name”; part of the reason they were disobeying God was because they wanted to make a name for themselves. They were disobeying God because of their selfishness.

And, again, it’s the same thing today. The Women’s Lib Movement, for instance, plays on women’s selfishness. The Movement portrays motherhood an oppressive trap! Causing women to have to give up their dreams and ambitions!

When the truth is that getting married and raising a family is the right ambition, it’s the godly ambition; it’s what women are made for, and it’s what men are made for too! You can tell by the way that God designed our bodies that we were made to get married and to have children. And to pour ourselves into those children. Being selfless, pouring yourself into others, is the biblical way, and the only way to find true fulfillment.

3. Disobeying Because of Not Trusting God to Provide
A third reason people disobey God’s command to be fruitful and have children is that people don’t trust God to provide. Christians, especially, need to understand that the Lord will provide when we seek him first: when we seek to obey him, and to obey his command to be fruitful and multiply.

Jesus said, “… take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:31-33). If we seek the kingdom of God first, then God will provide for our physical needs. That’s Jesus’ promise. Why don’t more Christians believe it?

You see, people in our culture, Christians included, have been brainwashed into thinking that they should not have children until they first have an abundance of money. But that’s worldly thinking, that’s not biblical thinking. The world tells couples to go on birth control, or to abort, until they have enough money for kids. But the Bibles basically says the opposite. The Bible commands us to get married and have children, and Jesus promised that God would provide for us. So we just need to trust and obey.

I run a pro-life page on facebook, called Abortion Is Murder, and I’ve had dozens of people tell me that the Lord supernaturally provided for their families, when they got off birth control, and, instead, trusted in Jesus’ promise to provide. Many women have told me that their husbands got promoted right before the new baby was born. Or they’ve told me of receiving unexpected inheritances, or getting bargain homes just at the right time! right when the next baby was born. I’ve heard these kinds of testimonies too many for me to doubt Jesus’ promise that, if we seek God’s kingdom, then God will provide for us.

III. Children: Blessing? or a Curse?
A. World: Children a Curse
We need to have the biblical perspective; we need to stand on God’s promises, and obey him. No matter what the world says. Because what the world tries to play off as “facts,” often isn’t even true. And the ways of this world are subtly against God’s ways. God says to replenish the earth with people, but the world says that we’re overpopulated. God says to be selfless, but the world says to put yourself first. God says to trust him for your needs, but the world says to put your trust in your money.

And the Bible also says that children are a blessing! but the world says that children are a burden, the world portrays children as kind of a curse. Planned Parenthood tries to classify pregnancy as a disease, they talk about pregnancy in the same breath as they do STD’s. Planned Parenthood has a whole section of their website entitled: Birth Control, STD’s, and Pregnancy (https://www.plannedparenthood.org/teens/going-to-the-doctor), as if pregnancy was a sexually transmitted disease, to be avoided at all costs. And, in the media, you’ll often see women portrayed as being absolutely terrified of getting pregnant; as if getting pregnant was the end of the world, instead of, what it is: a blessing from God.

B. Bible: Children a Blessing
And children are a blessing. Remember, God’s command to be fruitful is actually called a blessing. Again, Genesis 1:28 starts out: “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply …” And Genesis 9:1 starts out the same way; it says: “And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.” So having children is a command from God, but, even more so, having children is a blessing from God.

Psalm 127, verses 3-5 read: “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them …” That passage says that children are our heritage from God, and our reward from God. And it says that the more kids we have, the happier we’ll be.

So we’ve got to keep our point of view in check, we’ve got to make sure that we have the biblical perspective on children, and not the world’s perspective.

C. God Creates Children
1. God Creates Children, Therefore…
Speaking of which, it’s important to understand where children come from… Children come from God. Children are not a mistake, or an accident, or merely a product of biology. The biological process is just the outward means that God uses to create children. And the biological process gives us the ability to obey God’s command, and to participate in his creative work. And it also allows us to enjoy the blessing, within marriage. But, ultimately, it’s God who creates children; God consciously creates each child in the mother’s womb.

And it’s important for us to have this perspective because it, too, goes to the heart of the issue; which is: Who Has the Right to Decide How Many Children a Couple Has?… Is it the couple’s decision, how many children they have? or is it God’s decision?… Well, it’s God’s decision, of course. And it’s God’s decision alone. Christians, we have been duped into thinking that it’s our decision, that we have the right to decide how many kids we have. But no, that decision is supposed to be God’s. We’ve been duped into playing God when it comes to deciding how many children we have.

In that last passage we read, Psalm 127:3 said, “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” So it says that children are of the Lord, and are his reward; this speaks to how God is the conscious creator of children. What does “of the Lord” mean? It means children are of the Lord. Children come from the Lord. God consciously and purposely creates each child that’s created.

2. How Many Children is God’s Decision
Turn to Genesis 30, verses 1 and 2. Genesis 30, verses 1 and 2: “And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die. And Jacob’s anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in God’s stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?” Rachel was mad at Jacob for not giving her children, and Jacob said, “Am I in God’s stead?” Jacob knew that God is the one who opens wombs, and who closes wombs; a few verses later, it says, quote: “And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb” (Gen 30:8). God is the one who decides when to create children, and when not to. We shouldn’t put ourselves in God’s stead, that’s usurping God’s authority. It’s not our place to decide how many children God wants to give us.

Now let me just stop here and say that… a lot of us have been deceived; a lot of us have done things in ignorance, things that we wouldn’t do today, now that we know the Bible better than we used to. And don’t beat yourself up over it. Satan wants us to spend the rest of our lives punishing ourselves for our past sins. But Jesus already took the punishment for our past sins. And so it’s not our job to punish ourselves for them. Ironically, punishing ourselves is just another way of usurping God’s authority, of trying to do what God already did. And, also, there’s nothing Satan wants more than for us to be ineffectual evangelists, because we’re always beating ourselves up over our past.

When a believer sins, we’re supposed to repent, confess it to God, and then move on. Philippians 3, verses 13 and 14 read: “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Brothers, sisters, forget those things which are behind, instead press forward to fulfill the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. We have a mission: to preach the gospel to the lost, and to edify one another. Let’s do that.

Furthermore, God uses our past sins for our good; “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” And so God uses our past to help make us more humble now, and to make us more loving and empathetic, and also our past sins give us experiential wisdom, so that we can warn others not to what we did… God can turn our past sins, even the most horrific of sins, into something good by using us to save the lives of babies now; we can be used to save many more lives than we may have lost.

IV. Life Starts at Conception
Alright, next I want to talk about when life begins. The pro-choice rhetoric out there tries to blur the line of when life begins. But, both biblically, and scientifically, it’s absolutely clear that life starts at conception.

A. Life Starts at Conception, Biblically
Now I want you to turn to two different verses, in your Bible, at the same time; we’re going to compare Isaiah 7:14 with Matthew 1:23. So turn to Isaiah 7:14 and to Matthew 1:23. It’s really the same verse, because Matthew 1:23 is quoting Isaiah 7:14. But the KJV dictionary gives us great insight as to when life begins by the way the NT quotes this OT verse.

So let’s start with Isaiah 7:14: “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” Ok, now look at Matthew 1:23: “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”

Now what I want you to notice is that the Isaiah verse says, a virgin shall conceive, while the Matthew verse says, a virgin shall be with child. And so the word, “conceive,” is used interchangeably with the phrase, “with child.” As you know, when the King James Bible interchanges words or phrases, it’s defining those words or phrases. So to conceive is to be with child. According to the Bible, each of us were considered children, when we were conceived. Life starts at conception.

And, by the way, what a great verse about the deity of Christ: a virgin shall be with child, and they shall call him God with us… Which brings us to another important biblical teaching on life in the womb: when Jesus came to earth, he came here starting at conception. The Word wasn’t made flesh when Jesus was born, the Word was made flesh when Jesus was conceived. Again, life starts at conception.

And you can tell that such is the case because, about a week after Jesus was conceived, Mary met her cousin, Elisabeth, who was about 6 months pregnant with John the Baptist. And something extraordinary happened at that meeting: 6-month-old John the Baptist worshipped 1-week-old Jesus, while both of them were in their mothers’ wombs. Luke 1:43-44 reads, and this is Elisabeth talking to Mary, who says: “And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.” Note that Elisabeth called Mary, “the mother of my Lord,” and that was only a week after Jesus was conceived. And so if Mary was already a mother when Jesus was only a week old in the womb, then Jesus was already Jesus when he was that one-week-old human embryo, too small to even see with the naked eye.

Also note that 6-month-old, in utero, John the Baptist leapt for joy, in his mother’s womb, just because Jesus was near him. John the Baptist was worshiping Jesus! And this shows that babies have both intellect and emotions while in the womb. John had the intellect to hear and react to Mary’s voice. And John reacted with emotion: the emotion of joy. Now part of John’s reaction was of the Holy Ghost, because Luke 1:15 says, of John, “… and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb.” But this again shows that human beings are human beings from inside of the womb, because the Holy Ghost only fills people. Inanimate objects don’t get filled with the Holy Ghost. Blobs of cells, to use pro-choice jargon, don’t get filled with the Holy Ghost.

B. Life Starts at Conception, Scientifically
And it’s not just the Bible that says that life starts at conception. Medical textbooks, dating back to the Roe v. Wade era, and going up to today, also teach that life starts at conception.

Listen to the following quote from an embryology textbook from 1968; the language is kinda technical, but bear with me: “It is the penetration of the ovum by a spermatozoan and resultant mingling of the nuclear material each brings to the union that constitutes the culmination of the process of fertilization and marks the initiation of the life of a new individual.” So that’s saying that when the ovum, or seed of the woman is fertilized by a sperm, then a new life has begun . Life starts when a sperm fertilizes an egg; life starts at fertilization, otherwise known as conception. That quote’s from a textbook called, “Human Embryology,” 3rd ed., by Bradley M. Patten.

Another medical textbook from that era puts it more simply. It says, quote: “[All] organisms, however large and complex they might be as full grown, begin life as a single cell. This is true for the human being, for instance, who begins life as a fertilized ovum.” And that quote’s from a textbook entitled, “The Human Reproductive System,” by Dr. Morris Krieger, 1969.

And let me just shoot some more scientific quotes at you, from down the years, up to today… “The term conception refers to the union of the male and female pronuclear elements of procreation from which a new living being develops. It is synonymous with the terms fecundation, impregnation, and fertilization … The zygote thus formed represents the beginning of a new life.” That quote’s from, “Biological Principles and Modern Practice of Obstetrics, J.P. Greenhill , 1974.

Next quote: “Each human begins life as a combination of two cells, a female ovum and a much smaller male sperm. This tiny unit, no bigger than a period on this page, contains all the information needed to enable it to grow into the complex … structure of the human body. The mother has only to provide nutrition and protection.” And that quote’s from, “The Nervous System: Circuits of Communication in the Human Body, J. Clark, 1986.

And the next quote: “In this text, we begin our description of the developing human with the formation and differentiation of the male and female sex cells or gametes, which will unite at fertilization to initiate the embryonic development of a new individual … This moment of zygote formation may be taken as the beginning or zero time point of embryonic development.” That’s from, “Essentials of Human Embryology,” William J. Larsen, 1998.

And here’s one from a 2003 textbook: “Human life begins at fertilization, the process during which a male gamete or sperm unites with a female gamete or ovum to form a single cell called a zygote. This highly specialized, totipotent cell marked the beginning of each of us as a unique individual.” And that’s from, “The Developing Human: Clinically Oriented Embryology,” 7th edition, Keith L. Moore.

And, finally, from 2012: “Fertilization is the process by which male and female haploid gametes (sperm and egg) unite to produce a genetically distinct individual.” And that’s from, “Kinases, phosphatases and proteases during sperm capacitation,” by Walter P. Signorelli.

C. The Redefining of the Start of Life
Ok so if both the Bible and science are in agreement that life starts at conception, or fertilization, then… what’s the problem? Why is it legal to kill after conception? and why are so many people deceived into thinking that life does not start at conception?

1. The Legal Redefining of When Life Starts
Well, first of all, there’s been a legal redefining of when life begins. Listen to this quote, from Professor of Pediatrics at Loyola University, Dr. Eugene Diamond. And I know I just threw a bunch of technical quotes at you. But you gotta listen to this quote, it’s really incredible, in it’s implications; and, keep in mind, this is from a professor of pediatrics. Dr. Diamond says, “Prior to 1976, a “contraceptive” was understood to be an agent that prevented the union of sperm and ovum. In 1976 the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists [ACOG], realizing that this definition didn’t help its political agenda, arbitrarily changed the definition. A contraceptive now meant anything that prevented implantation of the blastocyst, which occurs six or seven days after fertilization … The hidden agenda in ACOG’s redefinition of “contraceptive” was to blur the distinction between agents preventing fertilization and those preventing implantation of the week-old embryo. Specifically, abortifa-cients such as IUDs, combination pills, minipills, progestin-only pills, injectables such as Provera and, more recently, implantables such as Norplant, all are contraceptives by this definition” (http://bit.ly/1rMrPy8).

Ok, so, did you catch all of that? He said that, prior to 1976, the medical community defined the start of human life at conception, or fertilization. But then they arbitrarily redefined the start of life from fertilization, to implantation, which is when the small human implants inside his mother’s uterus; and that takes place about a week after fertilization. And so, for political reasons, namely so that they wouldn’t have to label hormonal birth control as being abortifacients, the medical community, or part of the medical community, redefined the start of life as being one week later than it actually is… I mean, that’s insane. It’s very evil. They redefined the start of life, in order to hide from us the fact that hormonal birth control causes early abortions some of the time.

In a 1989, there was a case called, Webster vs. Reproductive Health Services, and that case went before the Supreme Court. The case actually had the potential of making abortion illegal again. And it was only one vote away from passing. But, anyway, listen to the following quote, and this is from an abortion industry lawyer, who argued, in that case, that the Court should not define conception as the start of life, because that would cause hormonal birth control methods to be labeled as abortifacients (which is what they actually are). Alright so here’s the quote, which, again, is from an abortion industry lawyer, Frank Susman. So this quote from the abortion industry’s own mouth; Susman said: “The most common forms of what we generically in common parlance call contraception today, IUD’s, low-dose birth control pills, which are the safest type of birth control pills available, act as abortifacients. They are correctly labeled as both. Under this stature, which defines fertilization as the point of beginning, those forms of contraception are also abortifacients.” If you want to read the transcript from this case yourself, google: “Webster v. Reproductive Health Services”; the complete transcript was published in the New York Times… But it’s just amazing that the abortion industry is on record admitting that hormonal birth control methods, and IUD’s, kill after fertilization some of the time – that they’re designed to cause abortions some of the time – and so the abortion industry argued, and won the right to hide this information from the general public, by not having to label abortifacient birth control as being such.

2. Rhetoric Redefining When Life Starts
And, today, such legal decisions have led to, and are supported by a plethora of pro-choice rhetoric, effectively blurring the line of when life begins, at least in the mind of the general public.

For example, in a recent NPR article, entitled, When Does Life Begin?, the article concludes by saying: “In the end, there may not be a single answer to this question since it depends on different interpretations of what life means at different stages of development.”

And in a recent Psychology Today article, similarly entitled, When Does Human Life Begin?, they similarly concluded that, quote: “The life of an animal organism, obviously, begins at conception. But human life begins only at the moment that the animal has a mind. In some, very fast, developers this can happen before the age of one year; in a large majority of cases this happens between two and three years of age. Does the understanding that human life begins much later than previously thought give an adult the right to terminate the life which has begun at conception but is not yet human?” Ok? now that’s pretty scary; they’re saying that life doesn’t begin until a few years after birth.

As you can see, the push is to try and get people to ignore science, and ignore the Bible, and then play God themselves. As if each individual adult has the right to decide when they think life begins.

V. Deception upon Deception
A. Satan the god of this World
We, as a society, have been deceived, by Satan, into usurping God’s authority, when it comes to defining the start of life, and thus legalizing abortion. And it’s not just that we, as a society, have been deceived, no, we’re also complicit in the deception, because Satan plays us, or is able to deceive us, based on our own, evil desires.

And Satan deceiving us, in such a way, is nothing new. It happened the same way in the Garden of Eden; where Satan deceived Eve into disobeying God by playing off of Eve’s own evil desire to do so.

Genesis 3:4-6 reads: “And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.” So note that Satan deceived Eve by playing on her desire to be wise like God. Now Christians are supposed to want to be like Christ, and to grow up into his image. But we don’t become like Christ, by disobeying God. That’s the opposite way to grow into Christ’s image. We become like Christ by obeying God.

And Satan’s shortcuts never work, not the way Satan promises; his shortcuts only make us lose the very thing that we we’re seeking after. Satan is the great Deceiver. Revelation 12:9 says that Satan, “deceiveth the whole world.” So that’s saying that Satan successfully deceives the whole world. And Satan’s successful because he’s in charge of this world. 2 Corinthians 4:4 says that Satan is, quote: “the god of this world” (“god” with a lower case “g”). Of course, most unbelievers don’t know that Satan is in charge of this world; but, what’s even more sad than that is: it seems like many believers don’t know it either. The fact that Satan is the god of this world is a neglected, and much needed, teaching in Christendom today.

1 John 5:19 says that, “… the whole world lieth in wickedness.” This world is just one layer of deception, upon another. And we need to be aware of this. We should be anticipating that Satan will try to deceive us. And we should be on guard against his deceptions. But, sadly, many Christians aren’t aware, or on guard. And that’s why so many of us get deceived into following the ways of this evil world. Many Christians abort their own children, and many Christians get deceived into using abortifacient birth control.

B. The Birth Control Deception
Now let’s get into the birth control deception. For many people, this is the most difficult aspect of the abortion holocaust to grasp. Because many Christians, and many pro-lifers, have used birth control, without fully understanding how it works. And the truth about how most forms of birth control work is so horrific, at least to Christians and pro-lifers, that some of them just can’t allow themselves to understand it; they have to live in denial, about how birth control works, because they can’t face the horror of what they’ve done. And, you know, I can understand them feeling that way.

And so If I’m explaining how birth control works to someone who’s a Christian, I remind them of the gospel that saved them. And how all of their sins have been forgiven through their faith on Christ. And then if I’m explaining how birth control works to someone who’s not a believer, I use it as an opportunity to share the gospel with them; and to let them know that all of their sins, no matter how big, can be forgiven, if they put their faith on Jesus.

Now in order to understand the birth control deception, you first need to understand how the early stages of pregnancy work. A woman’s body releases an egg once a month, and that egg lasts a day or two, before dissolving. Now sperm can survive inside of a woman’s body for up to three days, before dissolving. And so that means there’s a 5-day window, max, each month, when pregnancy can occur.

If a sperm and egg meet, fertilization happens almost immediately, and a human being is created. A lot of people will use the term, “fertilized egg,” or “fertilized ovum,” to describe what happens at fertilization. But, technically, those terms are not accurate. There is no such thing as a fertilized egg. Because as soon as fertilization occurs, it’s no longer an egg- it’s now a new and distinct human being, with a distinct, one of a kind human DNA code.

And within one’s DNA code is written every physical trait of that person: your DNA says what color your eyes will be, what color your hair be, and it describes all of your physical characteristics; including whether you’re male or female. And, again, your DNA is created at the moment of fertilization. Fertilization, otherwise known as “conception,” is when your life began. And your DNA code, present at the moment of conception, is proof that you were purposely created by God, purposely created down to the last detail.

Alright, now fertilization occurs in the fallopian tube, which leads to the uterus. So, after fertilization occurs, and the new person is created, that new person travels through the fallopian tube, to the uterus, and then implants into his mother’s uterus. And that’s how he gets his nourishment from his mother. Now it’s about a week for the new person to travel from the fallopian tube to his mother’s uterus. And, make no mistake, during this first week, this new person is alive and he’s growing. He starts out at just one cell, but then, by the time he implants, he’s grown to about 700 cells big.

Ok so that’s how the early stages of pregnancy work: fertilization occurs in the fallopian tube, and then it takes about a week for the new person to travel to his mother’s uterus, and implant there… Now let me tell you how hormonal birth control works. Most of the time hormonal birth control stops the woman from releasing an egg. And, in such cases, of course, no abortions occur. But hormonal birth control is not 100% effective at stopping the release of an egg. Sometimes an egg is released and sometimes fertilization occurs. Therefore hormonal birth control has a back-up mechanism to try and stop pregnancy after fertilization. You see, hormonal birth control also shrinks and hardens the lining of the uterus, so that, when the new person makes it to his mother’s uterus, he can’t implant there, to get his nutrients. And so he dies. Basically he starves to death, floating around in his mother’s uterus, and then he gets flushed out. This is an abortion. It’s an early abortion. Preventing implantation kills a-week-old human being. Preventing implantation is an abortion.

And this is not an accidental side-effect of hormonal birth control; this is how it’s designed to work. Hormonal birth control usually contains two synthetic hormones: estrogen and progestin. Estrogen primarily works by preventing the release of an egg, and progestin primarily works by altering the lining of the uterus in order to prevent implantation. So, again, the abortifacient mechanism of hormonal birth control is by design. It’s purposeful. Originally, hormonal birth control only contained high doses of estrogen; and, at high doses, estrogen is more effective at preventing the release of a woman’s egg. But those high doses of estrogen were causing too many women to get strokes, and so they lowered the amount of estrogen in hormonal birth control. Of course, lowering the amount of estrogen led to more women conceiving, while on birth control; and so they added progestin to hormonal birth control, as a back-up, to stop pregnancies even after conception occurs. The abortifacient effect of hormonal birth control is on purpose, and by design.

Forms of hormonal birth control include the regular birth control pill, the morning after pill, the RU486 pill, the birth control implant, the birth control shot, the birth control patch, and IUD’s, which are little devices implanted into the uterus. All these forms of birth control work the same way; they use the same hormones; sometimes they prevent conception, and sometimes they abort the baby about a week after conception occurs.

And, when this happens, the mother doesn’t know that her baby has been aborted by her birth control; because the baby is so small, when he’s one week old, that the mother doesn’t notice him passing through.

I think, outside of the spiritual realm, and the deceptive false gospels that are out there, I think this is the greatest deception portrayed on Christians today. Many Christians have been deceived into killing their own children, via hormonal birth control, and they don’t even know that they’re doing it.

You see, doctors don’t have to tell their patients that the birth control they’re giving to them also works as an abortifacient; because the legal definition of the start of pregnancy was changed from conception, to, a week later, at implantation. So, legally speaking, killing a baby during his first week of life isn’t an abortion. Legally speaking, killing a baby during his first week of life is just preventing pregnancy. So you can straight out ask your doctor, Does this birth control pill cause abortions? And your doctor can look you in the eyes and say, No, it does not cause abortions… Even though it really does. Legally, your doctor is protected; he can lie to you, and not get sued. And, by the way, doctors make a lot of money off of the birth control they hand out. So they have a lot of incentive to get you on it… Also, some doctors are deceived themselves, and they don’t know, or haven’t really thought about, in detail, how hormonal birth control works.

The patient information given in the package insert, of hormonal birth control, doesn’t say how it works. Which is sad, because, a few years ago, when I started researching this, the package inserts did at least say how it worked. Although they tried to hide it with obscure language. But now they’ve just removed that information altogether, now it’s left it up to the doctors to tell people how their patients how birth control works… or, really, to not tell them.

For instance, one of the major brands of birth control pills is called Desogen. And you can find a copy of the patient’s package insert for Desogen online: https://www.merck.com/product/usa/pi_circulars/d/desogen/desogen_ppi.pdf. But that package insert does not tell the patients how it works. All it says is, quote: “This product (like all oral contraceptives) is intended to prevent pregnancy.”

Now you can also look up the physician’s prescribing information for Desogen online: https://www.merck.com/product/usa/pi_circulars/d/desogen/desogen_pi.pdf. That’s the pamphlet that the company gives to doctors about the drug. And that’s where you can find information about how the Desogen actually works. You want to look for the drug’s mechanism of action. For Desogen, it says, quote: “Although the primary mechanism of this action is inhibition of ovulation, other alterations include changes in the cervical mucus … and the endometrium (which reduce the likelihood of implantation).” So, in the doctor’s information on the drug, there’s one line about reducing the likelihood of implantation. And that’s a nice way of saying that sometimes it causes abortions. And that it’s designed to do so… To find this information on other hormonal birth control products, just google the name of the drug, along with the phrase, “mechanism of action,” and you’ll be able to find a copy of the prescribing info online.

So now you can see why most people don’t know that hormonal birth control causes abortions. Because the information either isn’t given, or it’s hidden in obscure language. For example, if you go to WebMD, under, “How Does Hormonal Contraception Work?” The last line of their explanation says, “Hormonal contraceptives can also prevent pregnancy by changing the lining of the womb so it’s unlikely the fertilized egg will be implanted.” But still the information is hidden in plain view. Because the phrase, “it’s unlikely the fertilized egg will be implanted,” sounds harmless! What’s a fertilized egg? That’s nothing, right? No, wrong. There is no such thing as a fertilized egg. Once an egg is fertilized, it becomes a human being. Preventing implantation kills a one-week-old human embryo, it kills a one-week-old person. Remember, Jesus was only one week old, in utero, when John the Baptist worshiped him, from the womb.

Ok now you need to know that progesterone-only pills, and progesterone-only shots are worse than regular hormonal birth control, in that they primarily work by preventing implantation. And then non-hormonal IUD’s are the worst of the worst, because they only work by preventing implantation. So if you’re sexually active and you’re using a copper IUD, as your birth control, you may well be aborting every month.

On average, though, if you’re sexually active and using an estrogen and progestin combination hormonal contraceptive, you’re averaging about one early abortion per year, without knowing it. Dr. Bogomir M. Kuhar, who has a PHD in Pharmacology, estimates that there’s, quote: “… 0.8 chemical/mechanical abortions per year per female user, [which,] rounded up, means approximately 1/abortion/year/user …”, end quote (http://www.prolifehealthcare.org/abortifacient-contraception-t-reynolds-bk-review.html). And that’s the horrific truth about hormonal birth control, horrific especially for Christians and pro-lifers; because hormonal birth control is causing them to unwittingly kill their own children… A married Christian couple, that’s using hormonal birth control, is aborting one of their children, each year, without realizing it. A Christian couple, who’s been married for, say, 10 years, and has used hormonal birth control all that time, has likely killed 10 of their own children, without realizing it. This is beyond horrific. Outside of the spiritual realm, this birth control deception is the worst deception Satan has managed to pull on us Christians. He’s literally tricked us into killing our own children. It’s likely that that more babies are killed via hormonal birth control, than are killed by regular abortions.

C. The Legalization of Abortion
This world is an evil place, it’s built on deception after deception. And another crazy deception is the means by which abortion was legalized. Dr. Bernard Nathanson was a former abortionist, and early leader in the pro-choice movement. Dr. Nathanson co-founded NARAL, the National Abortion Rights Action League, whose avowed purpose is to repeal all anti-abortion laws. Dr. Nathanson and NARAL were instrumental in influencing both the public, and the Supreme Court into legalizing abortion. And they did it by using inflated statistics.

Listen to this confession by Dr. Nathanson, he said, quote: “We fed the public a line of deceit, dishonesty, a fabrication of statistics and figures. We succeeded [in breaking down the laws limiting abortions] because the time was right and the news media cooperated. We sensationalized the effects of illegal abortions, and fabricated polls which indicated that 85% of the public favoured unrestricted abortion, when we knew it was only 5%. We unashamedly lied, and yet our statements were quoted [by the media] as though they had been written in law” (http://www.bmj.com/rapid-response/2011/11/03/how-abortion-movement-started-deceit-and-lies-dr-nathanson).

And Dr. Nathanson also confessed to using the same deceptive tactics to influence the Supreme Court into legalizing abortion. Dr. Nathanson said, quote: “We claimed that between five and ten thousand women a year died of botched abortions. The actual figure was closer to 200 to 300. And we also claimed that there were a million illegal abortions a year in the United States and the actual figure was close to 200,000. So, we were guilty of massive deception” (https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/former-abortionist-bernard-nathanson-exposes-lies-of-american-pro-abortion-). “Many of the claims we made, many of the statistics we produced you will find in footnotes or even in the text of the [Supreme Court’s] Roe v. Wade decision” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDy9VD_woBI).

D. Pro-Choice Rhetoric
And so deception was used to legalize abortion, and to perpetuate it. And deception is still used to perpetuate it. The pro-choice slogans and rhetoric that are making the rounds today are really just empty, smoke and mirrors, if you take a moment to actually analyze them. Like the slogan: “My Body, My Choice.” Well what about the baby’s body? And what about the baby’s choice to live?… Or the slogan: “If You Don’t Like Abortions, Don’t Get One.” Well that’s like saying, If You Don’t Approve of Murder, Don’t Murder. But we’re trying to defend the innocent here. Just because you can kill a baby, doesn’t mean you have the right to.

And these types of slogans are just part of the abortion industry’s marketing campaign, that’s used to brainwash the general public. Listen to this quote from Dr. Nathanson, he said: “What passes for argument, at least on the pro-choice side, the pro-abortion side, is nothing more than hallow, empty slogans; such as, “Reproductive Rights,” and “A Woman’s Choice to Control her Own Body,” and “Freedom of Choice,” and all that sort of thing. I know, because I made up, I myself made up these slogans, when I worked on the other side” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDy9VD_woBI).

And today such slogans are perpetuated by the Orwellian-named, Planned Parenthood, the flag ship of the abortion industry. Which is, essentially, a branch of our own government; considering that the company wouldn’t survive without the half a billion dollars, in tax money, that it gets each year. Going to Planned Parenthood’s website, under “Abortion,” you see slogans like, “Abortion is a Safe and Legal Way to End Pregnancy,” and, “Only You Can Decide What is Best for You.” Again, these are empty slogans, meant to deceive people into thinking that killing their own children is somehow a moral thing to do. And so, if someone’s looking for an excuse to kill, Planned Parenthood’s got it for them; all packaged into cute little slogans.

And the public school system and media perpetuate this abortion industry propaganda. Sex Education at schools is nothing more than a vehicle for such propaganda. A few days ago there was a story of Planned Parenthood receiving $240,000 to teach sex education in public schools just in Santa Barbara, California, alone (http://www.noozhawk.com/article/planned_parenthood_receives_240000_grant_for_sex_education_in_santa_barbara). All that money given to the abortion industry to teach teens about sex, in just one city. It’s craziness! And Planned Parenthood’s so-called “sex education” is really just promoting promiscuity; if you want a sample of the type of perverted stuff they teach, check out one of Planned Parenthood’s teaching videos on youtube, entitled, “How Pregnancy Happens.”

And abortion is promoted by the mainstream media, as well. You have TV shows like ABC’s “Scandal,” where the main character was recently portrayed as having an abortion, on the show; and she had her abortion while the song Ave Maria was playing in the background. So the show was mocking Christianity while it was promoting abortion… And then you have Hilary Clinton’s recent interview on “Meet the Press,” where she flat out said, quote: “The unborn person doesn’t have constitutional rights.”

E. Diverting Pro-Life Opposition
Another deceptive tactic used to perpetuate abortion is the diversion of pro-life opposition. Incrementalism is a less than futile way to combat abortion. By incrementalism I mean passing laws that restrict abortion, just under certain circumstances. Such as making it illegal to kill a baby after 24 weeks, or after 20 weeks, or after 12 weeks. Such laws, A) Are not really enforced, and B) Such laws have the unintended consequence, at least unintended on the side of the pro-lifers, of entrenching the legality of abortion. Because when pro-lifers pass a law making it illegal to kill a baby that’s older than 20 weeks, that same law is simultaneously saying that it should be legal to kill a baby who’s younger than 20 weeks. And so we literally have 40+ years of pro-life laws affirming the legality of abortion, under certain circumstances.

Do you understand? The pro-life movement has, in essence, been deceived into fighting for and passing laws that affirm the legality of abortion. The pro-lifers have been deceived into fighting for, what they’re trying to fight against. It’s all craziness.

There’s also deceptive pro-life statistics, that make pro-lifers think they’re winning the fight, when they’re not. For instance, recently there’s been a lot of Planned Parenthood facilities closing down. And when a clinic closes down, pro-lifers celebrate and declare that they’re winning the war against abortion. But closing down Planned Parenthoods doesn’t really do anything, because hospitals and other abortion clinics, in the area, just end up picking up the slack.

There’s also statistics saying that Americans are getting less abortions now, than they have in decades. But that’s another deceptive statistic, because access to abortion pills have become more prevelant than ever. Recently the morning after pill became available over-the-counter. And Obamacare has made birth-control pills basically free to anyone. And so, yes, surgical abortions may have decreased, but that’s just because chemical abortions, done at home, have increased.

VI. God and the Blood Guilt of Nations
It’s just deception after deception. And people don’t realize the horror of what’s going on; they don’t realize the enormity of what’s going on, when it comes to the abortion holocaust.
A. The Abortion Holocaust vs. Others
We are literally in the midst of the worst holocaust in history, and most people simply aren’t aware of it. I’m not sure how much of the history that we’ve been taught is accurate, but just going by the mainstream, historical death-toll numbers, of wars and holocausts, none of those numbers comes even close to the death toll from abortions.

World War 1’s death toll is given at 15,000,000. Stalin is credited with killing 20,000,000. World War 2’s death toll is said to be 66,000,000. And Mao killed 40,000,000 (http://necrometrics.com/20c5m.htm)… The death toll of all the wars, in history, combined, is said to be a little under 1 billion people (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wars_by_death_toll).

But, in just the last 40 years, the worldwide death-toll from abortion is over one and a half billion people (http://www.numberofabortions.com/). And that does not include the early abortions caused by hormonal birth control… Alright, so that means that, in just the last 40 years, more people have been killed by abortion, than all the people killed in all the wars in the history of mankind, combined. Can you grasp the enormity of that? We are in the midst of the worst holocaust in history. We are in the midst of the most violent, murderous time period in history. And we’re not aware of it; we really have no idea of the enormity of the evil that’s going on all around us.

B. National Blood Guilt in the Bible
And the thing is, when you study the Bible, you see that God holds nations guilty when murderers are not punished, in that nation. God holds nations guilty for the spilling of innocent blood on their land.

When Cain killed Abel, God told Cain, “… the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground” (Genesis 4:10). And this same type of blood guilt can be seen on national levels. Numbers 35:33 says, “So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.” How much blood guilt does our nation have, with over a million traditional abortions per year? And add to that the untold number of early abortions caused by hormonal birth control. Not to mention America’s leading role in promoting abortions worldwide. There’s over 50 million abortions each year, worldwide. That’s an unprecedented amount of blood guilt on the earth right now! Is the world’s blood guilt building up for God’s end times’ wrath?…

VII. Conclusion: Waking Up to the Holocaust
A. Abortion Our Doorway into Ministry
Christians, we need to wake up to the abortion holocaust that’s going on all around us. Waking up to the Abortion Holocaust was actually a major factor in bringing Pastor Yaghtin and I into the ministry. We got saved over 20 years ago, and, as soon as we got saved, we realized that abortion was very evil. But it wasn’t until, I don’t know, 4 or 5 years ago, that God just opened up our eyes as to how evil abortion really is. And, after wading through all the propaganda, and false information, that’s out there, we started to see the enormity of the issue. Realizing the extent of the abortion holocaust made us more serious about everything. We spent a several years trying to wake people up to the problem of abortion. And, as you can see, we still are. But, in the end, we saw that our main focus should be on preaching the gospel, and on edifying the saints. Waking up to the horrors of abortion made us more serious, and helped to take us out of the world more, and to focus on ministry. The truth about abortion makes you realize how true the scripture is when it says that, “…the whole world lieth in wickedness” (1 John 5:19). We’re not to be a part of this world. Our hope is not here. Our hope is elsewhere.

B. Wake Up
I don’t endorse so-called, “evangelist,” Ray Comfort, because he preaches a false, repent-of-your-sins-to-be-saved gospel. But he did make a pretty good documentary on abortion, called “180.” And in it he shows footage of the people of a small town in Germany, going up to view the concentration camp at the outskirts of their town, at the end of World War 2. I don’t know what those townspeople were told went on in that concentration camp, but, whatever they were told went on there, they weren’t told the truth. Because, when they went to view that concentration camp, they had no idea what they were about to see. The townspeople were filmed walking up to the camp, and, as they walked up there, they were all happy and smiling and chatty, as if they were going on there way to a picnic or something. But then, when they show the townspeople walking out of the concentration camp, they were staggering, they could barely walk, and they were sobbing uncontrollably… They had no idea what went on in that camp, even though it was located in their own home town.

And that’s the exact scenario that’s playing itself out right now, in our time, and right where we live. Children are being violently murdered in abortion clinics all around us. And to a much greater degree than any other holocaust in history… If those German townspeople were guilty of being willfully ignorant of the holocaust that was going on right under their noses, then so are we.

C. Things We Can Do to Combat Abortion
So what can we do about it? What can we do to combat abortion?

1. Things We Can Do
Well first, of course, we need to get ourselves out from participating in it. Married couples need to get off of birth control. Single people who are fornicating, need to stop. We also need to check on our friends and family. It’s doesn’t matter that it’s a taboo subject. It doesn’t matter that the world says men aren’t supposed to have a say in the matter. Forget about that stuff, just go to your loved ones and tell them what’s up. Warn them about hormonal birth control especially. You know it’s interesting, fornication doesn’t seem to be the worst sin in the world, but, if you open the door to one sin, it leads to another. Christians who fornicate don’t realize that they may also be killing their own children with the birth control they use. We need to warn our friends and family who are Christian or pro-life. “A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” If our loved ones are killing their own children, and don’t even know it, we need to let them know, we need to warn them. Otherwise, what good of friend are we? Friends and brothers need us the most when they’re in trouble.

We also need to reach out to the general public. When we go soul-winning, sometimes we should stand outside of our local abortion clinic and share the gospel there, and also tell them about the evils of abortion.

And we can use our talents and gifts to combat abortion. Are you a writer? are you an artist? a craftsman? a web designer? Whatever gifts you have, use them to let people know what’s going on. First and foremost, as Christians, we’re to share the gospel with the lost. But, secondarily, we should try to rescue babies from abortion. Proverbs 24:10-12 reads: “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; if thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?”

2. But Don’t Yoke with False Gospel Preachers
But a couple warnings about the pro-life movement: first off, a lot of the people in the pro-life movement are preaching a false gospel, and so you don’t want to yoke yourself with them. A Catholics are pro-life, and, course they’re preaching their false, works-based gospel. And also a lot of the Protestants in the pro-life movement are preaching the false, repent-of-your-sins gospel. So you don’t want to get influenced by them, and you don’t want to lead unbelievers to such organizations either. Pro-Life groups that save babies from death, but then send their mothers to hell, by preaching a false gospel, are doing more harm than good. You don’t want to be a part of such groups.

And the other thing is that combating abortion can easily become an obsession that makes you forget your priorities as a Christian. Again, our top priorities are supposed to be preaching the gospel to the lost, and edifying believers. As important as combating abortion is, it should be a distant third from our top priorities: preaching and edifying. The previously mentioned Catholic and fake Protestant pro-life groups get so obsessed with combating abortion, that they actually call saving babies from abortion, preaching the gospel. Again, don’t yoke yourself with such groups.

D. Forgiveness After Abortion
Lastly, I want to talk about forgiveness. There is forgiveness available to those who have wittingly, or unwittingly, committed abortion.
1. Forgiven Murderers in the Bible
Two of the greatest men in the Bible, King David and the Apostle Paul, were forgiven murderers. King David committed his murder when he was already a believer. The Apostle Paul did his before getting saved.

As you know David committed adultery, and to cover up that sin, he had the woman’s husband murdered. These were grievous acts for anyone to commit, especially a believer. And David had to pay a price, in this life, for the murder.

But David repented before the Lord, and the Lord forgave him. Psalm 51 records David’s prayer to God, confessing and repenting his sin. The psalm says, in part: “Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions … Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me” (Ps 51:1-3,10).

After David confessed his sin before God, the prophet, Nathan, told David that God forgave his sin, that, God, quote: “hath put away thy sin” (2 Samuel 12:13). And we can see that such is the case when we read what God wrote about David in the New Testament; in Acts 13:22 God recorded of David that he was, quote: “a man after mine own heart.” And so if God could write that about David, after David had committed murder, then we know that God forgave him.

And, like David, the Apostle Paul was also a murderer. Paul confessed that, before he got saved, he persecuted Christians “unto the death.” In Acts 22:4, Paul said, “And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.”

But part of Paul’s greatness, as an apostle, was that his past kept him humble before God. Paul said of himself, in 1 Corinthians 15:9-10: “For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.”

2. The Gospel
God uses forgiven murderers, like David and Paul, because it exemplifies God’s grace. God is a God who forgives sinners, and puts them into his service. Romans 3, verses 23-25 read: “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past …” If you have put your faith on Jesus to save you, then all of your past sins have been forgiven. Brother and sister, if the Lord can forgive people like David and Paul, and use them as his servants, then the Lord can forgive you, and put you into his service as well. Let’s pray.
